Well, it’s been a long day (full of home maintenance unfortunately), but I had some fun tonight. I recently broke down and bought the new version of Adobe Photoshop. Adobe has gone to a subscription model, so for $10 a month I get to use the latest version of both Photoshop and Lightroom. I don’t like the subscription model, but I temptation overcame my aversion!
So far I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the built in filters which seem to be a nice upgrade. I was playing with the Liquify filter and found that I can use it to create a marbled paper effect! I started with a rather bad photo of some blue and green paint rolled out with a brayer and after some trial and error I learned how to “comb” it to sort of resemble marbled paper. Maybe with some practice I can make it more realistic and get some of the patterns you see in real paper.
